Denta-Med was developed to improve oral health outcomes, particularly for people suffering from Xerostomia (Dry Mouth), and has built a strong reputation within palliative care, aged care, oncology, disability, mental health and broader healthcare settings over many years.

                                                                

Erin Durack Shanahan, owner and Director of Denta-Med is the daughter of the late Dr. Patrick Shanahan OAM, who founded the brand. 

Their flagship product, Denta-Med Dry Mouth Gel, is a professionally developed oral care alternative to traditional toothpaste that gently cleans, protects and hydrates the mouth for up to 8 hours. 

            

Denta-Med specialises in Dry Mouth products that provide multiple benefits. The range includes oral sprays, mouthwashes and other specialised products designed for people requiring a gentle yet effective oral care solution. Importantly, the products are free from sodium lauryl sulphate(SLS), xylitol, alcohol, chlorhexidine, titanium dioxide, abrasives (silica), sugar, gluten, dairy, nuts, egg and strong flavours.  

         

Dr. Shanahan was widely respected within the dental and healthcare industries and was a pioneer in advocating for legislated oral care standards within aged care in Australia. His contribution to dentistry and vulnerable communities was formally recognised through both a Centenary Medal and, posthumously on Australia Day, January 26th 2025, an Order of Australia Medal for Service to Dentistry.

Prosthetic range - Denta-Med Denture Adhesive Gel (GLUE FREE)

This an awesome product. My elderly mother was using every adhesive available atthe chemists or supermarkets unti her Prosthodontists recommended this product to her. She was using too much of the adhesive glue which meant we had to pay for hefty cleaning session of her dentures. This product avoids all the cleaning because it dissolves when you clean your dentures and it also ensures adhesion of dentures. It withstands all types of foods, meats, vegetables, pastas.. I would totally recommend this product for it´s quality and it does what it says it does!!!!
